I'm making sets for a character I'd like to write. She was rendered blind when she was kidnapped at the age of eight. The kidnapper attempted to force her to swallow bleach by submerging her head in a large quantity of the substance. The chemicals did permanent damage to her eyes but she only swallowed an insignificant amount. She was rescued by police forces who managed to track down the criminal, a repeat offender. At first those on duty didn't think she was alive but when she was moved into an ambulance, medics confirmed that her life force was still present though weak. Her character is based off of the song It Only Hurts by Default. She was the only one of three children who survived. Rather than being thankful they still had her, Maddie's parents resented her. They kept her from school, calling in private tutors to teach her braille. She remembers almost nothing of the English alphabet although speaks it fluently. She receives a rush of terror whenever the door of her room is opened. She has been in contact with no one outside her parents and teachers since the incident. She is very sarcastic toward her parents and the only classes she tolerates are science and english.
